Accountability and the Arts: Who's the Boss?

Posted on September 22, 2006

SEATTLE - The Shunpike's next "Accountability and the Arts" event will be held Monday, October 9, 2006 at the Seattle Center House. It will be a panel discussion moderated by The Shunpike and featuring guests from Rivet Magazine, Washington Ensemble Theatre, and others.

The topic: "Who's the Boss?" How do you create leadership in small arts organizations? Do you start as a collective? Or is it better to be a top-down company with one, singular artistic vision? How do you motivate volunteers? How do you get people on the same page? How can you all work towards the same goal and have company meetings that are productive and useful? We'll look at a variety of models and debate the merits of each.
